From Hilversum to Texel
Laurence and Merie-Ellis had booked a vacation home with friends for a weekend on the island of Texel. We had agreed to visit them when they were there. Also Sacha and Nina were going to fly with us one more time, and they liked to go with us. We picked them up on Saturday morning and drove to Hilversum airfield for the trip to Texel.
We could still use some extra fuel for the trip to Texel, and we refuelled forty liters. After leaving runway 22 and passing the Loosdrechtse Plassen, we went north along the river Vecht. We passed castle Muiden, and then flew along the Fort island Pampus to Monickendam.
After we passed Volendam we flew further over the province of North Holland to Den Oever, at the western end of the Afsluitdijk. We flew along the former island of Wieringen through the corridor from Den Oever to Texel, and we landed on runway 22 of Texel Airport. Laurence, Merie-Ellis and Andrew had already arrived at the airport restaurant.
First we went for some food and drinks. René asked Andrew if he wanted to make a flight. He wanted to, and Merie-Ellis also wanted to join us.

Local flight from Texel
When we were finished we walked to the plane for a local flight. After take-off we flew to the southwest, in the direction of Noorderhaaks, a sandbank in the North Sea off the coast of Texel and Den Helder. We saw two groups of seals resting on the sandbank. Some of the pups, who were still white, were looking around a bit away from the group.
After Texel we flew in the direction of the naval port of Den Helder.
We flew around the harbor, and then past airport De Kooy, which is a familiar place for Andrew.
After two orbits around De Kooy we flew past lighthouse
Lange Jaap, and then back to Texel airport.

From Texel to Hilversum
Shortly after landing we said goodbye to fly back to Hilversum. Sacha and Nina wanted to sit in the back together. Again we flew past the naval port and De Kooy, and further along Hoorn. We crossed the Markermeer in the direction of Almere. At the southern edge of the new Lelystad CTR we flew further to Amersfoort, to do some sightseeing there. After seeing Amersfoort we flew back to Hilversum.
