Maintain currency on the C182TR
René had not flown the Cessna 182 since the trip to Zwickau on 21 August, 2021. The planned trip with the Cessna 182 to Locarno in October had to be cancelled due to the weather, and we went by car instead.
To maintain currency on the C182, René and Fernando intended to fly on Friday with the C172 from Hilversum to Paderborn, then do some flying with the C182 from Paderborn, and then return to Hilversum with the C172. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow it. There was a persistent fog in the morning, both over Hilversum and to the east over the border with Germany. So we agreed to have lunch at the airport in Hilversum, and then we made a flight to Hoogeveen after the weather cleared up.

Flight from Paderborn-Lippstadt
On Sunday, René drove to Paderborn-Lippstadt to make the flight with the C182. The weather was not great, but appeared sufficient for a little flight to Porta Westfalica and to Bielefeld. After take-off from runway 06, René left the CTR at point Echo. North of the

Between the ridges of the Teutoburger Wald and the Wiehengebirge the clouds became too low to continue, and René turned to Bielefeld. René also cancelled the intended landing at Bielefeld, and returned to Paderborn-Lippstadt.
After landing on runway 06, René put the Cessna back in the hangar, filled-in the paperwork, and then returned home to arrive at about five o'clock. It was a short flight of just over half an hour, but at least we are current for the next three months.
